Set in Stone returns! This time we'll be hosting the Northern Funk room at Manchester longest running weekly night Funkademia.

Both Tom's will be playing all night alongside Golden's old Stylus friend (and ex lover) Les Croasdaile. You can expect laid soul, funk, party classics, rock, hip-hop and a huge helping of house classics...

"2009 has been another very eventful year for Funkademia. Having been crowned Galaxy club of the year and as Manchesters longest ever running clubnight we grooved through our 14th year at 1 Central Street before moving in September to our shiny new home of the Mint Lounge in the Northern Quarter. Now sat right in the heart of the Manchesters coolest quarter the night has grown again with record sell out crowds every night. Hence we thought it only right to celebrate the dawn of a new year at our new home, Mint.

Dj’s: Our resident crew will be manning the decks in the main room with dj’s Les Croasdaile, the Good for the Soul boys and the inimitable Trafford Lovething bringing in the new year in a suitable funky style. In the backroom our Northern Funk team led by the Set In Stone dj team will be grooving things along in a discerningly soulful manner.

Times: In order to provide our people with a full night we are opening the doors an hour early at 10pm with the funk going through until at least 4am 2010. If the people want it we’re happy to keep the wheels of steel spinning & in years gone by we have been known to have the place still rockin’ at 7.00am.

£: As usual we like to keep things very reasonable and – we think – that’s one reason our customers keep coming back. This year our early bird tickets will be just £10 which we think is exceptional value for New Years Eve. They will be more on the door however and in 14 years of doing NYE events we’ve always sold out in advance."
